Guide to Golden Acre Park, Leeds
Leeds, West Yorkshire
The lake is both home and a stopping off point to many waterfowl, this point at the water's edge is popular with visitors, as the paving allows access right up to waters edge without ruining your footwear in the marshy ground.
The wildfowl will come right up alongside you, and some are taller than a small child, so watch your ears don't get pecked!
Regrettably the wooden shelter which had stood at this spot for many years apperas to have been the victim of a fire.

Golden Acre Park, Leeds opened in 1932 with a huge amusement park, boating lake, miniature railway and many rides and attractions. The attraction failed, closed and fell into disrepair. The park was taken over by Leeds City Council in 1945.

The Park is situated about six miles from the centre of Leeds at Bramhope on the A660 Otley Road. It consists of approximately 137 acres of mature woodland and gardens surrounding an attractive lake. A comprehensive variety of trees and shrubs, as well as herbaceous and aquatic plants has been added in recent years.

Access Access from the car park is via a steep path to underpass or across busy road. Wheelchair users may require assistance. There is limited 'disabled' parking alongside the Cafe. The circular walk is on flat, metalled and gravel paths. There is a manual wheelchair available from the shop. The Blenheim Courtyard, Display House and Demonstration Garden are easily accessible to disabled people.

Buses to and from Leeds: 780, 784, X84 - 3 buses per hour Monday to Saturday daytime, hourly service evenings and Sundays
