The Leeds Corn Exchange buildings is one of the best known old landmarks of the City.

The elliptical dome 75 feet high tops the building which was opened in 1863. Like many of Leeds civic buildings the Corn Exchange was designed by Cuthbert Brodrick.

The building is now converted for use as a speciality shopping centre, with cafes, a bar and has even featured an airplane hanging from the ceiling!

Behind the Corn Exchange building are many of the trendy bars and restaurants of the 'Exchange Quarter'.

Beware the traffic regulations at this junction, turning left here along Vicar Lane is only permitted at certain times of the day - so check your watch, or for a better excuse use the clock on the Corn Exchange!

You may hear the message 'CAUTION 2 WAY TRAFFIC' blaring from loudspeaker s in this area, it isn't that 2 way traffic is such a new thing to Leeds, its just that around here buses, taxis and confused visitors get to drive on the wrong side of the road!
