Guide and Virtual Tour of Leeds: Hanover Square and Denison Hall,.
Panorama | Review | Map and 45º Aerial View
This elegant, late 18th century house is situated to the west of the campus of Leeds university at the north-west corner of Hanover Square. It was built in 1786 as the home of the rich wool merchant John Wilkinson Denison.
A good example of the homes of the rich entrepreneurs of Leeds, the house has three storeys with bow-fronted wings on either side. Hanover Square, to the front of the house, was originally part of the grounds of Denison Hall.
